On August 23rd, Barbara and I celebrated our June retirements with a 14-day round-trip Alaskan Gateway Cruise from San Francisco aboard the Holland America ms Prinsendam, the smallest of HAL's 13 'dam' ships.

Barbara and I had toured the cities of Skagway, Juneau and Sitka on our 1996 Alaskan Cruise, so this time our shore excursions were rather simple. Also, it was just six weeks since I had undergone major back surgery, so I had to limit my shore excursions ... I call this 'Alaska As Seen From A Perch". The following photos are a few of the high-lights of our journey.
